Bio-Plas COMPAC 200 filter media provides a large surface areas for good bacteria to colonise and this increases the efficiency of a box, pressure or multi-bay pond filter.
Bio-Plas COMPAC 200 Media provides the maximum active surface area for the bacteria to colonise, much more than other types of static media. It is this process which removes harmful ammonia and nitrite from the water.
Within the media is a protected surface which enables colonies of bacteria to naturally follow their lifecycle, of maturing, dying and then fuelling the latter stages of the nitrification cycle.
All Bio-Plas filtration media can be used in either a mechanical or biological Filtration system; Bacteria will colonies while collecting debris and plant material from the pond with no compromise of water flow.
