Bought the strainer to replace existing unit which had become distorted and was restricting flow to the pump. Very well constructed and blends very well into pond against the liner, if required the nuts can be undone to clear any internal debris. The surface area of the strainer has little impact on flow and have had to turn pump flow down to prevent filter overflowing. The only slight downside (hence giving it four stars) smaller leaves can get through on the corners where the gaps are slightly larger but this will only impact with leaves like bamboo which have not been collected by skimmer. A very effective and efficient strainer for the price, arrived well packaged and in good time. Recommended and will use again for pond parts and filters
