Hello Roger, All our flexible hose is measured from the internal diameter, it is strongly recommended that all flexible pipe is connected with some sort of barbed fitting. The barbed fitting will fit internally into the pipe and once secured with a jubilee clip offers a watertight joint. We stock a wide range of fittings that can be used with 38mm internal diameter hose. Pleasantly surprised by quality of this product. It far surpassed my initial expectations. Very sturdy but easily trimmed to length and very smooth internally. Easy to fit to outlets with a small bit of lube and not too rigid so routing the hose was no problem.
Not as flexible as the corrugated pipe, but does not burst or spring leaks Shrinks well after boiling water to get round tailpipes
Purchased 15 meters of 50 mm hose and 13 meters of 36 mm hose. Fabulous quality. Very quick delivery. Peace of mind when using a quality product. Really does look and feel well made . Definitely recommend if you want good hose to sort out your pond filters and waterfalls 👌😁

Bought this to repair a leak hose from cellar sump. Perfect size and works a treat. Delivery was fast. No complaints. Would use again. Hopefully I won’t have to though!
